Workshop: Kurinuki

Workshop: Kurinuki

$95.00Price

10am, Saturday 10th February

In this two-hour workshop, you'll experience the traditional form of Japanese handbuilding, known as 'Kurinuki'. Meaning 'to carve out', Kurinuki involves the process of shaping a block of clay and carving out an interior space to create a vessel. It's a chance to take a more sculptural approach to making, with equal focus on the inside and outside of the vessel.

At the end of the class, you will leave your work to be fired and glazed, before it is ready to be collected or shipped approximately four weeks later.

These workshops are suitable for 14+ years and all levels.

The class includes:
- All materials
- Guided tuition to create two kurinuki vessels
- Glazing in clear or white glaze
- Firing
- Grazing board, incuding non-alcoholic refreshments

Full details will be emailed a few days prior to the workshop.
